Christmas at Radio City!

This year Martin's Christmas gift was a trip to see the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City! Luckily we got a discount. Its kind of a funny story, my Grandmom is part of this really cool retirement group where they get to go on lots and lots of trips together, like cruises, trips to Ireland and Italy, and I think they also went to Norway, and one of their trips this year was to come into the city and see the Rockettes in the Christmas Spectacular show! My grandmom asked us if we wanted to go and mentioned my mom was going as well. It was my mom's first trip to the big city to visit us (she usually stays clear of it and doesn't like all the hustle and bustle) so I couldn't pass this one up! It was so much fun to be able to hang out with Martin, my mom and grandmom and my gram's boyfriend (who is just so much fun) and to see Christmas Spectacular. Before we met up with everyone, Martin and I toured around Rockefeller Center saw the tree and grabbed some hot chocolate! Here is a pic for ya:)

(don't they look so pretty on the ice in front of the tree and the gold statue??)

It was about a 2 hour show, with 12 different vignettes having to do with Christmastime, one scene all the Rockettes dressed as wooden soldiers and they looked amazing! Like they moved so slow I was honestly alittle scared! lol. Another scene was them in big soft looking teddy bear outfits doing the nutcracker, and another actually dropped a huge projector screen down on the stage, we put on our 3d glasses (provided by Radio City) and we watched as Santa traveled through the sky (and us with him) on his sleigh! It was really fun, presents were flying at us as we were curling around buildings with the sleigh.

I think the whole group my Gram was with had a great time! It meant so much to be able to have family to spend time with in the place that I go to everyday for work and to be able to show them around alittle bit. Afterwards, we jumped on the bus with everyone and went to Forlini's in Chinatown for some yummy dinner (included with the package). Aside from someone falling on a step when getting off the bus and having to go to the hospital, the night was a beautiful way to spend the holiday. After dinner, my Mom, Gram and rest of the group headed back home while Martin and I hopped on the train to head to our home. We're usually the ones to travel out to visit everyone and it felt so light to be able to just head home so easily! Hopefully this is the start of habits to come:)

Sending you peace, love and a warm (and as always with a funny face) smile this holiday season!
