Frugal tip friday - being creative with drawer knobs

I hate this look. Its the look of pure "I don't care about mess" look. While I know my hubs is of the kind that doesn't care about mess, I've grown to care. Maybe to balance us out alittle. But I definetly hate this look of robes thrown on the door handle.
It just look so sloppy to me, with the bottom of the 2 robes resting on the floor...where vacuuming is way overdue. It all started when our original pretty ceremic flower hook broke. It was like this for a few weeks, and it was getting to me every time I walked by and saw it. So I thought of a solution where I wouldn't have to buy anything...and that you could use without having to buy anything! I had a bunch of drawer knobs that I had purchased from Anthropologie on sale, I love that store! While rummaging through them I found a cute orange old fashioned looking one, and though door knob, drawer knob, door knob, drawer knob and well, I put it into the wall. It wasn't so hard actually, it just screwed in. It might be difficult to get out though as I'd have to screw it out the other way or use plyers. It works well though! Take a look!

And I can finally turn the door knob without grabbing a bunch of robes instead!
I bet you could use a bunch of antique door knobs or drawer nobs and make it look really cool. Once our coat rack fails you can find me at the antique store!
Have a great weekend and Happy FF!

  3. so happy that you stopped by.. love your blog and always happy to find a fellow new york blogger, but especially a Brooklyn blogger.. we must meet one day in the BK... that look is very familiar in my house.. my husband uses the door knob, above the bathroom door to hang everything.

  5. I love robes and I have the same problem, except mine are in a ball on the floor next to my nightstand! I love the idea of using anthro knobs!
