NY Renn Faire 2010

This past weekend we got out of the city and headed to upstate New York for the NY Renaissance Festival! Its great fun to go there, sometimes we even get dressed up! Last weekend we decided to low key it and wear normal clothes, but hopefully Labor Day we'll be in our full peasant clothing! :)  If you've never been to the faire, it is really a fun time. Most of the sales are of handmade items. Handmade clothing, handmade sculputures,
handmade jewelry, glass blowing,

cooking onsite in big ovens like these

candle makers and even a soap maker!

I got some interesting info from her about soap making too!

Martin loved the magic tricks that this mastermind magician card tricker could perform.

we also saw some knife throwing
and a masked piano player.
It was great time! I definetly recommend going! Its a little expensive but they have deals, like last weekend was bring children for free and Labor day has a great deal, 4$ off per person! And they have this yummy light honey wine called Mead. Its awesome, I may have had more than a few:) They even could turn hair into yarn!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

  2. Awesome! By the way that is SO NOT a masked piano player!! lol. He is playing bells in he heaviest instrument around called a carillon. The same guy is at our Renfaire in Texas playing them- and he's my fave:)

thanks Shan! I didn't know it was called that, I can see why you love it, it was the first time we heard it there and the sounds were amazing! Everyone was crowded around him, even when we were leaving, he still had a crowd.

  6. We've been to a pretty neat Renaissance Festival here in Ohio before. It was fun. Not sure when we'll go back. My friend wants to go again this fall, so we'll have to see.
